Thick, chewy and festive cookies loaded with chocolate chips and patriotic red, white, and blue flair ,perfect for your 4th of July celebration!
Ingredients

- 2½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1½ cups cake flour
- 2 tsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup cold, unsalted butter, cubed
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed (dark or light)
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 large egg yolks
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 cups milk chocolate chips (or less if desired)
- Red and blue gel food coloring
- Edible glitter stars
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, cake flour, cornstarch, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat together cold cubed butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy and well combined.
- Add eggs, egg yolks, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a dough forms.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Divide dough into three portions. Leave one plain, color one with red gel, and one with blue gel. Swirl or twist the doughs together gently for a marbled effect.
- Use a cookie scoop to portion dough and place onto prepared baking sheets.
- Top with edible glitter stars for decoration.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden. Let cool on the baking sheet before transferring.
Notes
Adjust chocolate chip quantity to your taste. These cookies can be frozen after baking or as dough balls before baking.
