Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 8 oz egg noodles or ramen noodles
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (optional, for thickening)
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook noodles according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  4. Stir in garlic and ginger; cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil.
  6. Pour sauce into the skillet with the beef; stir to coat evenly.
  7. If desired, stir in cornstarch slurry and cook until sauce thickens slightly.
  8. Add cooked noodles to the skillet; toss everything together to combine well.
  9. Sprinkle with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

For extra veggies, stir-fry bell peppers, shredded carrots, or snap peas with the beef. Adjust soy sauce or sugar to taste.
