Description
A rich and smoky BBQ sauce made with crispy bacon and finished with a splash of bourbon for deep, bold flavor.
Ingredients

- 6 slices bacon
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/3 cup bourbon
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the bacon in a saucepan over medium heat until crispy.
- Remove bacon, crumble it, and set aside.
- In the same saucepan, sauté the onion in the bacon fat until soft.
- Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Stir in the ketchup, bourbon, apple cider vinegar, and brown sugar.
- Add Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, and smoked paprika.
- Return the crumbled bacon to the saucepan.
- Simmer on low heat for 20 to 25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Let cool slightly before using.
