Ingredients

  • 2 to 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Optional: Italian seasoning (oregano, basil, thyme)
  • Optional: Lemon zest and rosemary
  • Optional: Chili powder and cumin for spice

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Pound chicken breasts to even thickness if needed.
  3. Rub chicken with olive oil or melted butter.
  4. Season both sides with salt, paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  5. Add any optional seasonings for extra flavor.
  6. Place chicken breasts in a baking dish or on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 18–20 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  8. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Resting the chicken after baking helps retain juices. Use a meat thermometer for perfect doneness.
