A classic homemade beef lasagna layered with rich tomato sauce, creamy béchamel, and melted cheese for the ultimate comfort dish.
Ingredients

- 500g ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 800g canned crushed tomatoes
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 250g lasagna noodles
- 500ml béchamel sauce
- 200g mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 100g parmesan cheese, grated
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Heat olive oil in a large pan, sauté onion and garlic until softened.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned.
- Stir in tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 20 minutes.
- Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions and drain.
- In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce, followed by noodles, béchamel, and mozzarella. Repeat layers.
- Finish with a layer of béchamel, mozzarella, and grated parmesan on top.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden and bubbling.
- Let rest 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For a richer flavor, prepare the meat sauce a day ahead. You can also add red wine while simmering the sauce.
