Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 packet French onion soup mix
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup caramelized onions
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyère or Swiss cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, soup mix, breadcrumbs, eggs, milk, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a greased loaf pan and shape into a loaf.
  4. Bake for 40-45 minutes until cooked through.
  5. Remove from oven, top with caramelized onions and shredded cheese.
  6. Return to oven for 5-7 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Garnish with parsley and serve warm.
