Description

Spooky Halloween cupcakes with a surprise bloody filling made from raspberry jam, topped with creepy decorations.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients on package)
  • 1 cup raspberry jam
  • 2 cups buttercream frosting
  • Red food gel
  • Halloween sprinkles or candy knives (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. Prepare cake mix according to package instructions. Divide batter into liners and bake 18-20 minutes, until toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
  3. Using a knife or cupcake corer, cut a small hole in the center of each cupcake.
  4. Fill holes with raspberry jam for a bloody effect.
  5. Frost cupcakes with buttercream, covering the jam filling.
  6. Drizzle red food gel over frosting to resemble blood.
  7. Decorate with Halloween sprinkles or candy knives if desired.

Notes

For a gory twist, use strawberry puree instead of jam for a thicker bleeding effect.
