Description

  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup (40g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups (155g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup (130g) chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.
  2. For the brownie layer: In a bowl, mix melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Add cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix until combined and spread in the pan.
  3. For the cookie layer: In another bowl, cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Add egg and vanilla. Mix in flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir in chocolate chips.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough over the brownie batter and gently spread.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  6. Cool completely before slicing and serving.

Notes

For an extra fudgy texture, slightly underbake the brookie and let it set while cooling.
