- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar

- 1/3 cup (40g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour

- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar
- 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups (155g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup (130g) chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.
- For the brownie layer: In a bowl, mix melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Add cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix until combined and spread in the pan.
- For the cookie layer: In another bowl, cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Add egg and vanilla. Mix in flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir in chocolate chips.
- Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough over the brownie batter and gently spread.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool completely before slicing and serving.
Notes
For an extra fudgy texture, slightly underbake the brookie and let it set while cooling.
