			- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon oil (for sautéing)
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a pan, heat oil and sauté onion and garlic until translucent. Let cool slightly.
- In a large bowl, mix ground beef, sautéed onion and garlic, breadcrumbs, eggs, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper until just combined.
- Shape mixture into a loaf and place in a baking dish.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- In a saucepan, bring beef broth and butter to a simmer.
- Mix cornstarch and water to make a slurry, then whisk into the broth.
- Cook until gravy thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
- Let meatloaf rest for 10 minutes, then slice and serve with gravy poured over the top.
Notes
Serve with mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables for a hearty meal. Don’t overmix the meat to keep the loaf tender.
