Description

A juicy, flavorful meatloaf glazed with a sweet brown sugar and ketchup topping, perfect for a hearty family dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup dried bread crumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons prepared mustard
  • 1/3 cup ketchup

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, egg, onion, milk, and bread crumbs. Season with salt and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Shape mixture into a loaf and place into a lightly greased 5×9 inch loaf pan, or form into a loaf and place in a lightly greased baking dish.
  4. In a separate small bowl, combine brown sugar, mustard, and ketchup. Mix until smooth.
  5. Pour glaze over the meatloaf and spread evenly on top.
  6. Bake uncovered for 1 hour, until juices run clear and glaze is caramelized.

Notes

Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing to keep it juicy.
