Ingredients

- 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic, lemon juice, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
- Place salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Let marinate for 15-30 minutes.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Remove salmon from marinade and place skin-side down in the skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes.
- Flip salmon and cook an additional 3-4 minutes or until cooked through and caramelized.
- Optional: Pour remaining marinade into skillet and simmer for 1-2 minutes until slightly thickened. Drizzle over salmon before serving.
- Serve with rice, vegetables, or salad.
Notes
For extra flavor, let the salmon marinate for up to 1 hour in the fridge. Do not overcook the salmon to keep it moist.
