Description

This Brown Sugar Soy Sauce Salmon is a sweet and savory dish thatโ€™s pan-seared to perfection and packed with flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic, lemon juice, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
  2. Place salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Let marinate for 15-30 minutes.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Remove salmon from marinade and place skin-side down in the skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes.
  5. Flip salmon and cook an additional 3-4 minutes or until cooked through and caramelized.
  6. Optional: Pour remaining marinade into skillet and simmer for 1-2 minutes until slightly thickened. Drizzle over salmon before serving.
  7. Serve with rice, vegetables, or salad.

Notes

For extra flavor, let the salmon marinate for up to 1 hour in the fridge. Do not overcook the salmon to keep it moist.
