  • Author: Crystal
  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

A quick and hearty one-pan meal with seasoned ground beef, rice, melty cheese, and all the flavors of a classic cheeseburger.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup long-grain rice
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional toppings: pickles, diced tomatoes, green onions

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté onion and garlic until fragrant.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned, draining excess fat.
  3. Stir in ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add rice, diced tomatoes, and beef broth. Stir to combine.
  5. Cover and simmer for 18–20 minutes, until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top and cover until melted.
  7. Serve hot with optional toppings like pickles, fresh tomatoes, or green onions.

Notes

This dish works great with leftover rice as well. For extra cheeseburger flavor, add chopped pickles or a drizzle of burger sauce before serving.
