Description
A quick and hearty one-pan meal with seasoned ground beef, rice, melty cheese, and all the flavors of a classic cheeseburger.

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup long-grain rice
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp mustard
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional toppings: pickles, diced tomatoes, green onions
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté onion and garlic until fragrant.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, draining excess fat.
- Stir in ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper.
- Add rice, diced tomatoes, and beef broth. Stir to combine.
- Cover and simmer for 18–20 minutes, until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top and cover until melted.
- Serve hot with optional toppings like pickles, fresh tomatoes, or green onions.
Notes
This dish works great with leftover rice as well. For extra cheeseburger flavor, add chopped pickles or a drizzle of burger sauce before serving.
