Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 green pepper, finely diced
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 6 regular sandwich buns or 12 slider buns
  • 6 slices pepper jack cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Colby Jack cheese
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, green onions, and diced green pepper. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, oregano, and minced garlic.
  2. Mix in Worcestershire sauce and mayonnaise until just combined.
  3. Form the mixture into 12 small patties.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add melted butter. Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until browned.
  5. Place a slice of pepper jack cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking and let it melt.
  6. Mix shredded Colby Jack cheese with sesame seeds; sprinkle over the melted cheese.
  7. Toast the buns lightly in the skillet, then assemble each slider with a patty, a sprinkle of Colby Jack cheese, and the top bun.
  8. Serve immediately with your favorite toppings.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute ground turkey for the beef. These sliders can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet or microwave before serving.
