Description

A family-friendly casserole layered with pasta, seasoned ground beef, tomato sauce, and plenty of melted cheese.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (24 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 12 oz pasta (penne or elbow)
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13 baking dish.
  2. Cook pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic until beef is browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer 5 minutes.
  5. Combine cooked pasta with meat sauce. Pour mixture into baking dish.
  6. Top with cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

You can add bell peppers or mushrooms for extra flavor and nutrition.
