Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 chipotle pepper in adobo sauce, plus 1 tsp of adobo sauce
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 3 tsp sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 10 leaves cilantro

Instructions

  1. In a blender or food processor, combine mayonnaise, yellow mustard, chipotle pepper, adobo sauce, lime juice, onion powder, sugar, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Blend until smooth.
  2. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  3. Transfer sauce to a serving bowl or airtight container.
  4. Garnish with chopped cilantro leaves.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a milder sauce, use only half of the chipotle pepper or omit the seeds and membranes. To make ahead, store sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
