Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup Valentine’s Day sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips and sprinkles.
  8. Scoop dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing evenly.
  9. Bake for 10–12 minutes until set but soft in the center.
  10. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Do not overbake to keep the cookies soft and fudgy. Add extra sprinkles on top before baking for a festive look.
