These Christmas Cream Cheese Sprinkle Cookies are soft, buttery, and festive! Made with cream cheese for an ultra-tender bite and coated in colorful holiday sprinkles, they’re perfect for cookie exchanges and Santa’s plate.

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp almond extract (optional)
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup red and green sprinkles (jimmies or nonpareils)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter, cream cheese, and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add egg, vanilla, and almond extract (if using). Mix well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Scoop dough into 1-inch balls and roll in sprinkles to coat.
- Place on prepared baking sheets about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until edges are just starting to turn golden.
- Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For best results, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking if your kitchen is warm. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 1 week, or freeze for up to 2 months.
