Description

These Christmas Ooey Gooey Butter Cookies are soft, chewy, buttery, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious — with festive sprinkles to bring holiday cheer to every bite!


Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for rolling)
  • 1/4 cup red and green sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat together the softened butter and cream cheese until smooth.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until fully combined.
  4. Mix in the cake mix until a thick dough forms.
  5. Fold in red and green sprinkles.
  6. Chill the dough for 30 minutes for easier handling.
  7. Scoop out tablespoon-sized amounts of dough, roll into balls, then roll in powdered sugar.
  8. Place on the prepared baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are set but centers are still soft.
  10. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
