This easy Crockpot Teriyaki Chicken delivers tender, juicy chicken smothered in a sweet-savory glaze perfect for busy weeknights. Just set it and forget it for a delicious Asian-inspired meal that pairs perfectly with fluffy white rice.

- 1 1/2 pounds boneless chicken breasts or thighs
- 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons ginger, minced
- 3 tablespoons Imperial Sugar Light Brown Sugar
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- Cooked white rice to serve
- Optional Garnishes: sesame seeds and/or sliced green onions
Instructions
- Place chicken in slow cooker insert
- In medium bowl, whisk soy sauce, garlic, ginger, brown sugar, rice vinegar and sesame oil until combined
- Pour sauce over chicken, cover, and cook on LOW for 4 hours
- Remove chicken and shred using two forks
- Whisk water and cornstarch in small bowl, then stir into slow cooker juices
- Return chicken to slow cooker and stir to coat in thickened sauce
- Cook 15 additional minutes until sauce is glossy
- Serve over rice with optional garnishes
Notes
Tips: Substitute apple cider vinegar if you don’t have rice vinegar. For thicker sauce, increase cornstarch to 3 tablespoons. Always use fresh garlic and ginger for best flavor. Leftovers keep refrigerated for 3 days. Freeze portions in airtight containers for up to 2 months.
