- ½ tsp kosher salt
- 12 large sweet sandwich buns
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard (reserve 2 tsp)
- ½ cup fig jam
- 12 oz (12 slices) Black Forest ham
- 4 oz smoked Gouda cheese, shredded
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tsp poppy seeds
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly toast the buns.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté the sliced onions with a pinch of kosher salt until softened and golden, about 5 minutes.
- Add the shredded smoked Gouda and continue cooking until the cheese melts and coats the onions.
- Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on the bottom half of each bun, then layer on a slice of Black Forest ham.
- Spread a generous spoonful of fig jam on the ham, then close the slider with the top bun.
- Arrange the assembled sliders on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes, or until the butter mixture is bubbly and the cheese is fully melted.
