Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (15.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
  • 1 (3.4 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 4 large eggs
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts

  4. Spread half of the cake batter into the prepared pan. Top with half of the apple mixture.
  5. Repeat layers with remaining batter and apple mixture.
  6. Bake for 45-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool for 15 minutes before serving.

Notes

Tips: For best results, use firm baking apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp. The cake tastes even better the next day as the flavors develop!

Substitutions: You can use pecans instead of walnuts, or Greek yogurt instead of sour cream.

Storage: Keep covered at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to 1 week. Can be frozen for up to 3 months.
