Ingredients
- 1 (15.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
- 1 (3.4 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
- 1 cup sour cream
- 4 large eggs
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- ½ cup white sugar
- ½ cup chopped walnuts
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 6 apples – peeled, cored and sliced
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, combine cake mix, pudding mix, sour cream, eggs, and oil. Beat until smooth (about 2 minutes).
- In a separate bowl, mix together sliced apples, sugar, walnuts, and cinnamon until well coated.
- Spread half of the cake batter into the prepared pan. Top with half of the apple mixture.
- Repeat layers with remaining batter and apple mixture.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool for 15 minutes before serving.
Notes
Tips: For best results, use firm baking apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp. The cake tastes even better the next day as the flavors develop!
