Description

These Easy Christmas Snickerdoodles are soft, chewy, and filled with festive cinnamon-sugar magic — perfect for holiday cookie trays!


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar (for rolling)
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon (for rolling)
  • Red and green sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and 1 ½ cups sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until combined.
  6. In a small bowl, mix the 3 tbsp sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Roll dough into 1-inch balls, then roll each ball in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  8. Place on prepared baking sheets, spacing about 2 inches apart.
  9. Optionally, top with red and green sprinkles for a festive touch.
  10. Bake for 8–10 minutes or until edges are set but centers are still soft.
  11. Let cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

Don’t overbake — these cookies should be soft in the center. Perfect for gifting or leaving out for Santa!
