These Easy Christmas Snickerdoodles are soft, chewy, and filled with festive cinnamon-sugar magic — perfect for holiday cookie trays!

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp cream of tartar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- 3 tbsp granulated sugar (for rolling)
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon (for rolling)
- Red and green sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and 1 ½ cups sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until combined.
- In a small bowl, mix the 3 tbsp sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls, then roll each ball in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Place on prepared baking sheets, spacing about 2 inches apart.
- Optionally, top with red and green sprinkles for a festive touch.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes or until edges are set but centers are still soft.
- Let cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
Notes
Don’t overbake — these cookies should be soft in the center. Perfect for gifting or leaving out for Santa!
