Description

This Easy Crockpot Carne Asada is tender, juicy, and packed with bold Mexican flavors, perfect for tacos, bowls, or burritos.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs flank steak or skirt steak
  • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1 jalapeño, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Place the flank or skirt steak into the crockpot.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together orange juice, lime juice, soy sauce, olive oil, garlic, cumin, chili powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Pour the marinade over the steak.
  4. Add sliced onion and jalapeño on top.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 7 to 8 hours or on high for 4 to 5 hours.
  6. Remove the steak and let it rest for a few minutes.
  7. Slice or shred the meat against the grain.
  8. Return the meat to the crockpot juices and toss to coat before serving.

Serve in tacos, burrito bowls, or salads. For extra flavor, sear the meat in a hot skillet after slow cooking.
