This Easy Crockpot Carne Asada is tender, juicy, and packed with bold Mexican flavors, perfect for tacos, bowls, or burritos.

- 2 lbs flank steak or skirt steak
- 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 1 jalapeño, sliced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Place the flank or skirt steak into the crockpot.
- In a bowl, whisk together orange juice, lime juice, soy sauce, olive oil, garlic, cumin, chili powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Pour the marinade over the steak.
- Add sliced onion and jalapeño on top.
- Cover and cook on low for 7 to 8 hours or on high for 4 to 5 hours.
- Remove the steak and let it rest for a few minutes.
- Slice or shred the meat against the grain.
- Return the meat to the crockpot juices and toss to coat before serving.
Notes
Serve in tacos, burrito bowls, or salads. For extra flavor, sear the meat in a hot skillet after slow cooking.
