Ingredients

- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pink or red food coloring
- Heart-shaped sprinkles or decorations
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
- In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, then mix well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
- Add a few drops of food coloring and mix until evenly colored.
- Form dough balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Gently flatten and decorate with sprinkles.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes.
- Let cool before serving.
Notes
Do not overbake to keep the cookies soft. Adjust food coloring to your desired shade.
