Description
A spicy, sweet, and bold Firecracker Chicken tossed in a flavorful chili sauce—crispy, saucy, and perfect served over rice or noodles.
Ingredients

- 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 2 eggs, whisked
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1/3 cup buffalo or hot sauce
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) or heat oil for stovetop cooking.
- Season chicken with salt and pepper.
- Coat chicken in cornstarch, then dip into whisked eggs.
- Pan-fry chicken until lightly golden, or bake for 15 minutes.
- In a bowl, whisk hot sauce, brown sugar, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes.
- Add chicken to a baking dish and pour sauce over the top.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, stirring halfway through, until sticky and coated.
- Serve hot over rice with green onions.
Notes
Adjust heat by adding more or less red pepper flakes. Works great with thighs instead of breasts.
