Ingredients
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 1 ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup chocolate chips
- Sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together oil and sugar until well combined.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla.
- Sift in cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Mix until just combined (don’t overmix).
- Fold in chocolate chips, reserving some for topping if desired.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top. Add sprinkles if using.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until the edges are set but the center still looks slightly underdone.
- Let cool completely in pan before cutting into heart shapes for Valentine’s Day!
Notes
Tips: For extra fudgy brownies, don’t overbake! The center should still look slightly wet when you remove them from the oven. Substitutions: Can use melted butter instead of oil for richer flavor. Storage: Keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
