  • Author: Crystal
  • Total Time: 30 minutes + chilling
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Description

A spooky Halloween dessert featuring rich chocolate mousse decorated like a graveyard with cookie tombstones and candy bones.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 6 crushed chocolate sandwich cookies (for dirt topping)
  • 6 rectangular cookies (for tombstones)
  • Black gel icing (for writing)
  • Candy bones or gummy worms for decoration

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, heat 1 cup heavy cream until just simmering. Remove from heat and pour over chocolate chips. Stir until melted and smooth. Let cool slightly.
  2. In a bowl, whip remaining 1/2 cup cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
  3. Fold whipped cream into melted chocolate mixture until combined. Spoon into serving cups.
  4. Top mousse with crushed cookies to resemble dirt.
  5. Use gel icing to write β€˜RIP’ on rectangular cookies and insert as tombstones.
  6. Decorate with candy bones or gummy worms.
  7. Chill at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

For an extra rich mousse, use dark chocolate instead of semi-sweet.
