Description

A comforting layered casserole made with ground beef, tender potatoes, creamy sauce, and melted cheese.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 6 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook ground beef with onion and garlic until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  4. In a bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup with milk until smooth.
  5. Grease a baking dish and layer half the potatoes on the bottom.
  6. Spread half the beef mixture, then half the soup mixture, and sprinkle with cheese.
  7. Repeat layers with remaining ingredients.
  8. Dot with butter on top.
  9. Cover with foil and bake 45 minutes.
  10. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until golden and bubbly.

Notes

Let the casserole rest 5–10 minutes before serving for easier slicing.
