Description

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 package (16 oz) potato gnocchi
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add diced onion and cook until soft, about 3 minutes.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
  4. Add ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
  5. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Add gnocchi directly to the skillet (uncooked) and stir to coat with the sauce.
  7. Cover and cook on low heat for 7-8 minutes, or until gnocchi is tender.
  8. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella over the top, cover again, and let cheese melt.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a handful of spinach during the final minutes of cooking.
