- 1 lb ground beef
- 8 oz lo mein noodles or spaghetti
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- 1 cup shredded cabbage
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- Cook lo mein noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet or wok, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
- Add sliced onion and cook for 2 minutes until slightly softened.
- Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add ground beef and cook until fully browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
- Drain excess fat if needed.
- Stir in carrots and cabbage; cook for 3–4 minutes until vegetables are tender.
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, and pepper.
- Add cooked noodles to the skillet and pour sauce mixture over.
- Toss everything together until noodles and beef are well coated and heated through.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot.
Notes
Swap in your favorite veggies like bell peppers or snap peas. Leftovers reheat well and make a great lunch the next day.
