Description

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 8 oz lo mein noodles or spaghetti
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 green onions, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cook lo mein noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet or wok, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Add sliced onion and cook for 2 minutes until slightly softened.
  4. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add ground beef and cook until fully browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
  6. Drain excess fat if needed.
  7. Stir in carrots and cabbage; cook for 3–4 minutes until vegetables are tender.
  8. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, and pepper.
  9. Add cooked noodles to the skillet and pour sauce mixture over.
  10. Toss everything together until noodles and beef are well coated and heated through.
  11. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot.

Notes

Swap in your favorite veggies like bell peppers or snap peas. Leftovers reheat well and make a great lunch the next day.
