- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup tomato sauce or salsa
- 8 taco shells
- Shredded lettuce
- Diced tomatoes
- Shredded cheddar cheese
- Sour cream (optional)
- Chopped cilantro (optional)
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- Add chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until softened, about 3 minutes.
- Stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Add tomato sauce or salsa and simmer for 5 minutes to combine flavors.
- Warm taco shells according to package directions.
- Spoon beef mixture into taco shells.
- Top with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, and cilantro as desired.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
You can use soft tortillas instead of hard shells. Add avocado or jalapeños for extra flavor.
