Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup chicken broth

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, cook ground turkey over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  2. Add onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Cook 3-4 minutes until softened.
  3. Stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper. Cook 1 minute.
  4. Add beans, crushed tomatoes, and chicken broth. Stir well.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Taste and adjust seasonings. Serve hot with toppings like cheese, sour cream, or green onions.

Notes

For thicker chili, simmer longer uncovered; for spicier chili, add extra cayenne or jalapeños.
