Description
A lighter twist on classic spaghetti sauce made with ground turkey, tomatoes, and Italian herbs.
Ingredients

- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup water or broth
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet or saucepan.
- Add onion and garlic, sauté until fragrant.
- Stir in ground turkey and cook until browned, breaking into crumbles.
- Add tomato paste and cook 1 minute.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, seasonings, and water or broth.
- Simmer 20–25 minutes over low heat, stirring occasionally.
- Serve over spaghetti or pasta of choice.
Notes
For a richer flavor, let the sauce simmer longer or add a splash of red wine.
