- 1 cup tomato puree
- 1/3 cup light corn syrup
- 1/4 cup white vinegar
- 2 teaspoons dried onion flakes
- 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine tomato puree, corn syrup, vinegar, onion flakes, sugar, salt, lemon juice, and garlic powder.
- Whisk until smooth.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat.
- Reduce heat to low and let sauce simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
Notes
For a thicker sauce, reduce the amount of water or add more corn syrup. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
