Homemade Baileys Irish Cream

Homemade Baileys Irish Cream

  • Author: Crystal
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: Makes about 2 cups 1x

Description

Indulge in the creamy, velvety taste of homemade Baileys Irish Cream, a classic liqueur that blends smooth Irish whiskey with rich chocolate, coffee, and a hint of vanilla. Perfect for sipping, drizzling over desserts, or adding a boozy twist to your favorite drinks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1⅔ cups (393 ml) Jameson Irish whiskey
  • 1 cup (238 ml) half & half or heavy cream
  • 14 ounce (396.9 ml) canned sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon instant coffee

Instructions

  1. Combine whiskey, sweetened condensed milk, chocolate syrup, vanilla extract, and instant coffee in a large bowl; whisk until smooth.
  2. In a separate container, gently warm the half & half or heavy cream (do not boil) and slowly pour it into the whiskey mixture, stirring constantly.
  3. Continue to whisk the mixture until fully blended and slightly thickened, about 2–3 minutes.
  4. Transfer the Baileys Irish Cream to a clean bottle or jar, seal, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow flavors to meld.
  5. Serve chilled as a standalone drink, over ice, or use as a decadent topping for desserts like pie, brownies, or coffee.

Notes

Tip: For a non‑alcoholic version, replace the whiskey with additional cream and a splash of vanilla. Substitute condensed milk with coconut cream for a dairy‑free twist. Keeps well refrigerated for up to 2 weeks; always store in a sealed container.
