Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup warm water or brewed tea

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. Grease and flour a cake pan.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, spices, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, mix honey, brown sugar, eggs, and oil until smooth.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  6. Slowly stir in the warm water or tea until fully combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  8. Bake for 35–40 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let cool before removing from the pan and serving.

Notes

This cake tastes even better the next day as the spices deepen in flavor. Store covered at room temperature.
