Description

“Ultra-fudgy homemade brownies with a secret ingredient—vanilla extract! These easy one-bowl brownies are rich, chocolatey, and have the perfect crackly top. Ready in under 40 minutes!”

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • ⅓ cup (30g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ cup (65g) all-purpose flour
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup (90g) chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix wet ingredients: Whisk melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Add dry ingredients: Gently fold in cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Avoid overmixing.
  4. Optional: Stir in chocolate chips for extra richness.
  5. Bake 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean.
  6. Cool 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • For gooier brownies: Reduce bake time by 2–3 minutes.
  • Substitutions: Use coconut oil for butter, or almond flour for a gluten-free version.
