- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 3–4 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
- Sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in vanilla and almond extracts.
- Gradually mix in dry ingredients until a soft dough forms.
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on prepared baking sheets.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until bottoms are lightly golden. Cool completely.
- In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make a smooth glaze.
- Dip cooled cookies into glaze and top with sprinkles if desired. Let set before serving.
Notes
You can substitute the almond extract with lemon or anise extract for a different twist.
