Description

Indulge in these bright, buttery Italian Lemoncello Cheescake Bars, a perfect blend of creamy citrus and sweet crumb. Ideal for gatherings, these bars bring a zest of sunshine to any dessert table.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 sticks (1 cup) butter, softened
  • 8 oz. (1 package) cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2/3 cup unsweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoon Limoncello liqueur
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest, finely grated
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • A few drops yellow food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, flour, and butter until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the cream cheese until fully incorporated.
  5. Mix in the condensed milk, sugar, Limoncello, lemon zest, and food coloring if using.
  6. Fold in the sour cream until the batter is light and fluffy.
  7. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan and bake for 15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting into squares.
  9. Serve chilled or at room temperature, optionally drizzled with a little extra Limoncello.

Notes

Tip: For a stronger lemon flavor, add an extra teaspoon of lemon zest or a splash of fresh lemon juice. You can substitute the Limoncello with vodka and a teaspoon of lemon extract for a non‑alcoholic version. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Pair with fresh berries or a dollop of whipped cream for extra flair.
