A hearty and flavorful Italian-style meatloaf packed with herbs, cheese, and a rich tomato glaze.

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb ground pork
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic, onion, eggs, milk, parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Mix until just combined — do not overmix.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a greased baking dish.
- Spread half of the marinara sauce over the top of the loaf.
- Bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove from oven, top with remaining marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese.
- Bake for another 15 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let rest 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Serve with mashed potatoes or a side of roasted vegetables for a comforting Italian-style meal.
