- 1 lb ground beef
- 8 oz lo mein or spaghetti noodles
- 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook noodles according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- Stir in garlic and ginger and sauté for 1 minute.
- Add soy sauce, brown sugar, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, and beef broth.
- Bring to a simmer and stir in the cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce.
- Once thickened, add the cooked noodles and toss to coat evenly.
- Sprinkle with chopped green onions and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot and enjoy your Mongolian-style noodles!
Notes
You can swap ground beef for ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
