Description
Soft, hearty, and slightly sweet oatmeal dinner rolls made with warm oats and fluffy dough—perfect for weeknight meals, holidays, or sandwich sliders.
Ingredients

- 1 cup rolled oats
- 2 cups boiling water
- 1/3 cup butter
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4–5 cups all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Combine oats, boiling water, butter, and brown sugar in a bowl.
- Let mixture cool until warm, not hot.
- In a separate bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water and rest for 5 minutes.
- Mix yeast mixture into the cooled oatmeal mixture.
- Add salt and gradually stir in flour until a soft dough forms.
- Knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and rise for 1 hour.
- Punch down dough and shape into rolls.
- Place rolls on a greased baking sheet and rise for 30 minutes.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15–18 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
Brush rolls with melted butter after baking for extra softness.
