- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 cup pasta sauce
- 1 cup uncooked pasta
- 1 cup water or broth
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef or sausage over medium heat.
- Add diced onion and minced garlic; cook until softened.
- Stir in diced tomatoes, pasta sauce, uncooked pasta, and water or broth.
- Add Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Cover and simmer for 12โ15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is cooked.
- Sprinkle mozzarella on top and cover until melted.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
Use hot Italian sausage for extra flavor. Add spinach or mushrooms for a hearty vegetable boost.
