Description
A light, zesty, and elegant dish featuring tender salmon fillets simmered in a lemony caper butter sauce — a fresh twist on a classic Italian favorite.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 salmon fillets (skinless)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (for dredging)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 cup capers, drained
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- Lemon slices, for garnish
Instructions
- Season salmon fillets with salt and pepper, then lightly dredge in flour, shaking off excess.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add salmon and sear for 4-5 minutes per side or until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic for about 1 minute.
- Pour in chicken broth and lemon juice, scraping up any browned bits.
- Add capers and simmer sauce for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.
- Return salmon to the skillet, spoon sauce over the fillets, and simmer for 2 more minutes.
- Sprinkle with fresh parsley and garnish with lemon slices before serving.
Notes
Serve with pasta, rice, or steamed vegetables. Adjust lemon to taste if you prefer a milder tang.
