- ¼ cup fresh basil leaves, torn
- 1 tsp honey or sugar (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in Dutch oven over medium-low heat.
- Add garlic and red pepper flakes, sauté until fragrant (about 1 minute).
- Crush tomatoes by hand into pot, add all juices.
- Stir in salt and bring to gentle simmer.
- Cook uncovered 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat, stir in basil and honey (if using).
