- 8 oz linguine or fettuccine
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup white wine or chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Lemon zest and chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil or butter over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove the shrimp and set aside.
- In the same skillet, pour in white wine or chicken broth to deglaze the pan.
- Stir in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Add the parmesan cheese and stir until the sauce is smooth and slightly thickened.
- Return the shrimp to the skillet, then add the cooked pasta and toss to coat.
- Serve immediately, garnished with lemon zest and chopped parsley.
Notes
Use freshly grated parmesan for best flavor and texture. You can substitute the wine with broth for an alcohol-free version.
