Description

Ingredients

  • 8 oz linguine or fettuccine
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup white wine or chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lemon zest and chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil or butter over medium heat.
  3. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  5. Remove the shrimp and set aside.
  6. In the same skillet, pour in white wine or chicken broth to deglaze the pan.
  7. Stir in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
  8. Add the parmesan cheese and stir until the sauce is smooth and slightly thickened.
  9. Return the shrimp to the skillet, then add the cooked pasta and toss to coat.
  10. Serve immediately, garnished with lemon zest and chopped parsley.

Notes

Use freshly grated parmesan for best flavor and texture. You can substitute the wine with broth for an alcohol-free version.
