Description
A classic and easy banana pudding recipe, made with layers of vanilla wafers, creamy pudding, and fresh bananas.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 box (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
- 2 cups cold milk
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 box vanilla wafers
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk. Let it set for a few minutes until thickened.
- In a separate bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream, sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
- Fold the whipped cream into the pudding mixture until smooth.
- In a serving dish, layer vanilla wafers, banana slices, and the pudding mixture.
- Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a pudding layer.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
- Optional: Garnish with extra banana slices and crushed vanilla wafers before serving.
Notes
For best results, let the pudding chill overnight for enhanced flavor. Use ripe but firm bananas to avoid mushiness.
