  • Author: Crystal
  • Total Time: 6 hours 15 minutes
  • Yield: 6 cups 1x

Description

This slow cooker applesauce is deliciously sweet, naturally flavorful, and incredibly easy to make. Just toss in your apples and spices, let it cook low and slow, and enjoy homemade applesauce with zero fuss!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 medium apples (such as Fuji, Gala, or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Add the chopped apples to the slow cooker.
  2. Pour in water, lemon juice, brown sugar (if using), cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Stir gently to combine.
  4. Cover and cook on LOW for 6–8 hours or on HIGH for 3–4 hours, until apples are very soft.
  5. Use a potato masher or immersion blender to reach desired consistency—chunky or smooth.
  6. Let cool slightly and transfer to jars or containers.
  7. Store in the refrigerator for up to 1 week or freeze for later.

Notes

Adjust sweetness by skipping or reducing the sugar. This applesauce makes a great snack, side, or topping for oatmeal and pancakes!
