- 1.5 to 2 kg beef brisket
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Season the brisket with salt, pepper, paprika, cumin, and cayenne. Rub well on all sides.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear the brisket on both sides until browned. Transfer to the slow cooker.
- In the same pan, sauté sliced onion and garlic for 2–3 minutes. Add tomato paste and cook for 1 more minute.
- Deglaze the pan with Worcestershire sauce and beef broth, scraping up the browned bits.
- Pour the mixture over the brisket in the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low for 8–10 hours, or until the meat is fork-tender.
- Remove brisket, let it rest, then slice against the grain.
- Serve with the juices spooned over and garnish with chopped parsley.
Notes
This dish pairs beautifully with mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables. Make ahead for better flavor the next day.
