Description
This comforting Slow-Cooker Bread Pudding is a classic dessert made easy with your slow cooker! Perfect for feeding a crowd, this warm cinnamon-spiced treat features tender bread cubes soaked in a rich custard. Top with whipped cream for an extra-special finish.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 cups 1-inch cubes day-old French bread
- 1/2 cup raisins (if desired)
- 2 cups milk
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- Whipped cream for serving (if desired)
Instructions
- Grease the insert of a 6-quart slow cooker with non-stick spray.
- In a large bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, sugar, melted butter, cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg, and salt until smooth.
- Add bread cubes and raisins (if using) to the bowl. Gently stir until all bread is coated with custard mixture.
- Transfer mixture to prepared slow cooker, spreading evenly.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 3-4 hours or until set (edges should be golden and center should spring back when touched).
- Serve warm topped with whipped cream if desired.
Notes
Tip: For plumper raisins, soak them in warm water for 10 minutes before adding.
Substitutions: Use brioche or challah instead of French bread. Dried cranberries work well instead of raisins.
Storage: Keep leftovers refrigerated in airtight container for 3-4 days. Reheat individual portions in microwave.
